problem:

pidgin cannot login to yahoo messenger..
solution:
-----------------
go to modify account > yahoo account > advanced tab
set pager server as "cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com" instead of "scs.msg.yahoo.com"
exit,save , logout and login again...
